Ah, metaphysics

Ok so a quick mind-bender for you all... I've been considering the Universe (yes all of it!). If the universe is infinitely big then surely everything in it would be infinitely small. To contain the infinitely small, it must be infinitely small. This means that the universe must be both infinitely big and infinitely small at the same time. Discuss.

The Menagerie HD

Well, I was one the luck ones who found out in time to see a classic two-part episode of Star Trek remastered and in H.D. Or was I? Those of you who know me well Know I enjoy Star Trek. I am by no means a Trekkie, however when an opportunity like this arises, I cannot pass it up. One the whole it was thoroughly enjoyable, and well presented. Except... Well about half way through the presentation, the sound went all screwy. Then it all went out of sync. It stayed that way for about 5 minutes, whilst the staff at the cinema faffed about trying to fix it. They eventually turned it off. When they were attempting to get it back up and running again it was clear that the operators had no idea how to use an HDDVD player (which this was being broadcast on) as it took then 15 minutes to find the fast forward button. This was happening all over the country. They then switched to the backup disc and got it going- though they would not rewind it to the part before we lost sound. Then 5 minutes from the end it happened again, the sound was out of sync. They opted to let the film finish. We got our money back, including my online booking fee. I must point out that this probably wont be the fault of Paramount but of CBS who pressed and distributed the disc. I was told by the staff at the cinema in question that the DVD was tested. Obviously not- else this error would have been apparent! I am keen to know what anyone else's experiences of this were.
