Ah, metaphysics

Ok so a quick mind-bender for you all... I've been considering the Universe (yes all of it!). If the universe is infinitely big then surely everything in it would be infinitely small. To contain the infinitely small, it must be infinitely small. This means that the universe must be both infinitely big and infinitely small at the same time. Discuss.

If the universe started as a finite quantity, it cannot now therefore be infinite. But what about the void surrounding the universe? Is there one? Is a void an entity at all?

I shall be soon posting a 'mini-thesis' on my blog. This should hopefully answer some of the points you have raised plus ask some more questions. I hope it stretches the sinuse and you scope of the possible...

Surely size can only be in relation to something else. From our perspective the universe is infinately big, because we are very small in comparrison. I wonder how God thinks though. Is the universe infinately big to him?
